Who we are

The Seed Center is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization planting seeds in the community. We are a place of hope for a brighter tomorrow and a place that cares to meet the needs of the children around us.

Here at The Seed Center we strive to see life’s change & take pride in helping the families we encounter on an every day basis.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Luke 4:18-19

History

The Seed Center, a newly established non-profit organization located in Corpus Christi, Texas, emerged as a response to the alarming rise in homelessness. The founder, motivated by a profound concern for societal well-being, sought to understand the underlying causes of this issue. Through direct communication with individuals experiencing homelessness, he uncovered a troubling commonality: many had endured significant childhood traumas that contributed to their current circumstances. This realization prompted him to consider how early life experiences shape individuals and affect their ability to thrive. With this insight in mind, the founder envisioned an initiative designed not only to address immediate needs but also to foster long-term resilience and growth within the community. The Seed Center aims to "plant seeds" of hope and support for future generations by providing resources, mentorship programs, and therapeutic interventions targeted at children who have faced adversity. By cultivating an environment conducive to healing and development, we seek to break the cycle.

Programs

  • Afterschool programs can positively impact students' academic performance, social development, and overall well-being by providing a structured environment for learning, reducing risky behaviors, and supporting homework completion, with research showing links to improved school attendance, higher grades, and lower dropout rates, particularly among low-income students. At The Seed Center we strive to provide a safe space for children to develop social skills, build positive relationships with peers, and learn conflict resolution strategies.

  • Our after school dinner program is an an initiative aimed at addressing the nutritional needs of students participating in after-school activities. By offering nutritious meals, we aim to enhance students' overall well-being and academic performance.

  • Stay tuned for the hours of operations as we are partnering with the Coastal bend food bank as a food bank distributor.
